MALE LEADERSHIP ACCELERATOR

Leadership Redesigned + Inclusion Partners
MALE LEADERSHIP ACCELERATOR

A 90-day transformational growth programme for mid-senior male leaders called to expand their impact through a braver, more human, visionary, resilient and connected approach to leadership.

“Leaders are the ones who have the courage to go first, to put themselves at personal risk to open a path for others to follow.”

— Simon Sinek, Start with Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?

  • You want to step up and have more impact as a leader, and become an active part of much needed change both in and beyond your organisation.

  • You struggle in environments demanding over-commitment and emotional suppression, but hold back from challenging this or role modelling anything too different.

  • You want to feel happier, more hopeful and more fulfilled but due to day-to-day pressures you keep pushing on and don’t feel there’s the space or safety to express this.

  • You recognise a new, healthier version of masculinity in leadership is emerging, but find it hard to fully commit to doing your own work to change, and often default back to familiar old ways.

  • You want to stand against bullying, sexual, racial and other forms of harassment and inequity but find terms like ‘patriarchy’ and ‘toxic masculinity’ triggering and turn you off from being part of the conversation.

Women and the Future of Work

In just a few years, we’ve seen technological advances, social movements, demographic shifts, and geopolitical disruptions cause dizzying changes to how organizations do business. And the forces revolutionizing work are only getting stronger, as artificial intelligence and other innovations are integrated into every aspect of society. At the same time, how workers experience the world of wor —and what they want from it—is increasingly affected by their dynamic, intersectional identities. How companies confront these opportunities and challenges will determine their success as we stride further into the 21st century. We must take a fresh look at who is doing the work; what our work has become; when and where it happens; why we are doing it; and how to make it most successful.

Join Isabelle Kurschner, PhD, Catalyst Europe Consultant Germanic Region as she discusses how organizations must keep the humanity of their workforce at the core of their business but also broaden perspectives to include all aspects of work. It is time to look through the lens of gender diversity, equity, and inclusion to achieve a future of work that maximizes opportunities for everyone.

We invite HR leaders, diversity and inclusion practitioners, and champions of inclusion from other parts of your business. Registration is complimentary but mandatory.

Inclusive Leadership (Psychological Safety): Connecting with Empathy & Trust

How psychologically safe do you feel at work? Do you feel safe to speak up, voice your opinions and ideas? Do you feel safe to make mistakes without fear of being ridiculed or punished? Do you feel safe (and empowered) to take risks? To make culture more innovative, a workplace needs to allow its employees to feel safe to share their ideas. When team members feel this level of ‘psychological safety, the workplace is said to have an inclusive culture.

And what, exactly, is the role of inclusive leadership? Catalyst’s Report: Getting Real About Inclusive Leadership has found evidence that inclusive leadership behaviours are key to creating a climate of psychological safety, which in turn cultivates the right conditions to create high-performing teams characterised by inclusion and innovation.

Join Allyson Zimmermann, Executive Director, Europe, Middle East & Africa, Catalyst and Shanker Venkatasubramanian from Inclusion Partners as they discuss what psychological safety is, why it is so important to how teams function successfully (or not), and the inclusive leadership behaviours that promote psychological safety.

Allyship and inclusion fatigue

How do leaders fuel allyship and create workplaces where employees from underrepresented groups can thrive? How can allyship and curiosity help combat inclusion fatigue?

Behind any type of diversity fatigue lies a disconnect.  The objective of organizational diversity is often communicated as meeting a specific goal, target, or number. While that is true and representation matters, humanity, empathy, and curiosity, tend to be an added “lesson” as opposed to something that is integrated. We see fatigue when companies do not invest in the skillsets of vulnerability and connection that are required to understand the intrinsic benefit of increasing diversity. Without the skill of connecting across differences, something that the majority of our population has never been taught, people can hide behind silence, resistance, and frustration in deep misunderstanding.

Allyship helps to combat this fatigue but it requires work and when supercharged with curiosity, its outcomes can be powerful. Recent Catalyst research,  Allyship and Curiosity Drive Inclusion for People of Colour at Work, shows that curiosity complements allyship to boost inclusion.

Join us for a discussion where Anna Manuzzi, Senior Associate, Catalyst, will facilitate a broader discussion on allyship and how to start your allyship journey.

Intersectionality: Creating Workplaces that Work for All Women

For employees to thrive within their workplace, they must feel psychologically safe or comfortable bringing their full authentic self without fear of being mistreated or penalized for making mistakes. People are a combination of their gender, race, nationality, age, ability and sexual orientation, and it is the combination of these, that informs their perspectives and experiences. When companies fail to acknowledge intersectional identities in the workplace, they dismiss a part of a person’s identity, which informs their experiences.

Catalyst’s research found that 90% of women of colour or women from underrepresented racial or ethnic groups want to be leaders with influence, hold intellectually stimulating jobs and advance to higher positions, yet almost 60% said they experienced an "emotional tax" in the workplace. This means they are ‘on guard’, bracing themselves for potential acts of bias or discrimination. People across intersections of race, ethnicity, gender, and other aspects of identity are also vulnerable to these risks.

Join us for a conversation about intersectionality and the impacts of Emotional Tax with Rukmini Iyer from Inclusion Partners and Rikia Birindelli-Fayne from Catalyst. During this session, you will expand your awareness and we will discuss strategies to bring an intersectional lens to workplace policies and practices.

We invite HR leaders, diversity and inclusion practitioners, and champions of inclusion from other parts of your business. Registration is complimentary but mandatory.

Inclusion Incubator - 4th Conversation: Activating Inclusive Leadership

We are coming to the final conversation of this four part Inclusion Incubator.

In this session, we will synthesise the learning journey so far and explore what we feel moved to take action on, or try out in our teams and organisations.

As part of the process, we will explore how we need to prepare for dealing with the inevitable challenges that we will encounter in the process of activation, such as the ego and culture-based dynamics that can keep us reinforcing the status quo rather than modelling and supporting a new paradigm of leadership.

During the session, we will share with you a tool we used to listen into what has heart and meaning for us so to work confidently with emergence.

Session #2 Inclusion Incubator: From deep sensing to identifying

On the 13th May, a group of passionate Inclusion & Diversity leaders and change agents came together to explore: What will inform a more inclusive response to the current and emerging challenges we are all facing as the Covid crisis unfolds?

From the initial sensing call, three themes were identified, and we are now inviting you to join us and dig deeper into one of these themes in order to identify the change we want to make and draft the change statement.

Inclusion Incubator: Sensing into the emerging future

What will inform a more inclusive response to the current and emerging challenges we are all facing? This is the question that we are inviting you to come and explore with us, at the first of a four part ‘Inclusion Incubator’ series on the role and form of inclusion during and post COVID-19.

For nearly 20 years, we have been supporting clients on their journey to make their workplaces more inclusive - often in the face of rapid change and conflicting agendas.  Now more than ever, we see organisations faced with choices that present an opportunity to shift towards a more inclusive and generative way of working that could really accelerate their progress and move the needle.

The Inclusion Incubator provides an opportunity and the space to connect with leaders and change agents in other organisations. To experiment with systemic, embodied and emergent ways of thinking to support us all to evolve our inclusion journey in this era by:

  1. Sensing into the limitations of current approaches and opening to new (potentially more radical) perspectives

  2. Discovering new ways of working with I&D that are more emergent (future fit)

  3. Ideating around what gradual shifts are possible

Facilitated by Inclusion Partners’ co-founders, Amel Murphy and Daniel Stane

A Call to Experiment: Inclusion Incubator

Are you a senior diversity or talent leader with a desire to bring new perspectives and support to the work you do to create an inclusive organisation?

For nearly 20 years, we have been supporting clients on their journey to make their workplace more inclusive. Through that time, although many organisations have done their best to tap into the diversity of their workforce through programmatic approaches, they still do not see the needle move sufficiently.

Based on the latest research and emergent thinking, our view is that we are in need of new ways of looking at our diversity & inclusion challenges.

On 18th March, we are hosting our first Inclusion Incubator in central London with the aims of:

  1. Discovering new ways of working with D&I that are more emergent (future fit)

  2. Sensing into the limitations of current approaches and opening to new (potentially more radical) perspectives

  3. Ideating around what new small shifts are possible and can be learned from

  4. Overcoming organisational fatigue with D&I initiatives

  5. Tapping a community of committed, open and courageous peers

  6. Supporting senior organisational leaders to address pressing business challenges through an inclusion lens.

If you are interested to join please send us a message via our Connect page.
